Me!

My name is Dan and I am an English 20 something training as a primary school teacher at a university in the South of England. I also work with special needs and disabled children in the holidays so any mention of "work" on this blog is that. I have to go into school for teaching practice occasionally too and so that's what "placement" is. During the holidays I live in the New Forest in a really dull town where nothing happens.

  I am a geek and often talk about geeky things here.  I'm a Whovian (meaning I love Dr Who), I love Nintendo, the Muppets and various comics. I'm also something of a cheese connoisseur, love a wide range of music and read loads of books. But I also love getting out in the great outdoors and often go for fairly long walks and take loads of photos which are shared on this blog!

Who's Who?

There are various people I might talk about on my blog and here's the place where you can find out who they are.

Mum and Dad: My parents who have raised me and now have to support me financially. 

Brother: My younger brother who is rapidly approaching adulthood. God help the world.

Besties: My best mate from home is Chris and in the holidays we get up to all sorts of stuff. At uni my housemate Josh is the one that entertains me.

Housemates: I live with four other people when I'm at uni, Josh (the camp one), Jaz (the confused one), Dannie (the Northern one) and Alice (the stereotypically female one). We get up to all sort of crazy stuff but our time together is coming to an end because I'm doing at extra year. New housemates coming in September!

Uni Mates: Other people I spend time with at uni and might mention are Stefan, Louise, Tiff and Claire. And perhaps the odd other person but I can't mention them all here!

This Blog
My blog shares with you the more interesting tales and events from my life. I mean to share all my experiences, be them good or bad.

There are a couple of regular-ish features that appear weekly or every few weeks:
Chart Chasers: I discuss (read slag off) the latest songs to hit the UK Top 40
Friday Review: I review something I've read, watched, played or listened to lately.
Time Vortex: I discuss the latest episode/goings-on in the world of Doctor Who.

My followers/readers are known as my minions. I love them all.

On this blog I try to keep the identities of people other than my friends and family quiet, especially when it comes to my work with children. If you have any worries about anything you see please post a comment and I shall amend it.
