This year I am taking part in the Secret Santa Challenge organised by Moneysupermarket.com. The idea is that they partner you up with another blogger and you then have to buy each other presents using the £25 they give you. There’s some prizes for the best presents and whilst that would be an added bonus I’m doing this more because I love Christmas, especially the giving and receiving presents bit!
My partner is Barry Nugent who is part of the team at Geek Syndicate. At the time of writing Barry has already posted about the challenge (you can read that here) and claims to have “struck gold” with his present for me. This is actually pretty exciting because I have literally no idea what is going to arrive through my letterbox. Although it may be too big for the letterbox and a man might have to deliver it, I don’t even know. To be honest, I’m easily pleased and it wouldn’t take much for me to be really excited about my present. If it’s linked to a show/film that I’m into then I’ll automatically love it but even if it isn’t I will probably still love it. I think I am pretty easy to buy for.
Barry e-mailed me today to say the present from him had been ordered and should arrive soon but I have been no-where near as organised. My big shopping day is usually around the 19th December and will be again this year. I’ve been so busy on teaching placement that I’ve barely had time to buy food let alone go out and buy a ultra awesome Secret Santa present. I am a rubbish shopper and rubbish at coming up with ideas for presents. I realised seeing as though the deadline was today I really ought to get on with it and after some extensive googling I found the present. I hope Barry will like it- I would quite like it and seeing as though we have similar interests I thought that was a good basis. To be honest I’m not sure how anyone could hate what I’ve ordered so I’m hoping it will go down well.
Before I finish the post I must have a laugh about the fact Barry called me “Daniel Hughes” in his post about the challenge. The guy that is organising the whole thing has the surname of Hughes and my surname does begin with an H but it is not Hughes. How this came about I don’t know but it made me chuckle!

This is a cute idea! I'm up to my ears in foster care gifts this year but I hope to keep that under my hat for next year. Thanks for sharing. eager to see what you get!
