Hello everyone! Today I thought I would tell you about the latest developments in my life. Which is a bit challenging because I haven't exactly got much to tell you. Unlike most of the rest of my household, I am having little excitement, be it good or bad. Life is just drifting along slowly. My weekend was spent largely asleep or working on my English assignment. Basically we have been given a sample of a child’s writing and have to talk about what's good about it but more importantly how it could be improved. I have done a whole load of dull reading about it and have written an unusually extensive essay plan. All I need to do now is actually write the essay. I always find it hard to actually start doing something. As soon as I start writing the essay I will be whizzing along fairly quickly but I keep putting back actually starting it. Tomorrow though, it shall be started.
Lectures today and yesterday haven't been that useful. I sometimes feel I am getting a bit ripped off with uni fees. At the moment we have hardly any lectures and some of those we do have seem a little pointless. I know I’m only the student but some sessions feel like they were put on for the sake of it and don’t teach us anything. They often just go over things we already know and I could have read the PowerPoint in ten minutes rather than sitting through a two hour session covering the same thing. Ah well, I guess it will be worth it in the end.
Guess what? My favourite ever chocolate bar is back! Wispa Gold’s were awesome Cadbury bars from back in the day and they were brought back for a limited run in the latter period of 2009. I fondly remember that time as one of the best times in my life. I can remember various brilliant things I did and the wonderful Wispa Gold was there too. So as well as bringing back the brilliant taste (bubbly chocolate with caramel), I like to think they are bringing the happiness back into my life too. The shop at the end of my road is selling them so I’ve ended up buying quite a few on my way to and from home.
I weirdly like food shopping. I guess the novelty of being able to choose what I want to eat is still relatively new, despite the fact I’ve been doing it for a year now. It always pleases me when I can get something cheap, like crisp multipacks being on a ridiculous buy one get two free offer and getting Tesco own Coco Pops for 64p (the come in a bag rather than a box). I have now changed the way I buy milk as well. Never again will I buy milk in a bottle. I now buy it in a bag, which is slightly cheaper and better for the environment. The bag then goes into a special jug, which is cleverly designed to open the bag and to enable the milk to be poured out. It’s pretty awesome, but I suspect only a mind as weird as mine would get so excited by it. It will take me three months to get the money back from the jug through the savings on the milk but in the long-term it will save me a bit of money. Around £4 a year I think, if the last two week’s milk consumption is anything to go by.
Chocolate, milk, what will this post cover next? I know, it’s Christmas. With all the Halloween stuff in shops now being replaced with Christmas stuff, I can’t help but feel that the festive period is nearly upon us. No other time of year is quite like Christmas! I e-mailed by Dad my Christmas list (he asked for it) and decided to be helpful and linked everything on the list to the place online where you can buy it. So pretty much all he has to do is click “buy” a few times and that’s it all sorted. The list was a little long and I put lots of stuff on there, but there’s no way I expect to get it all. I gave my parents a choice as to what they want to get me. The main present I’m after is an Amazon Kindle. I like my gadgets and that one seems amazing. It would mean I wouldn’t have to carry books around again, it’s easier to read and means I will save money on buying books because I can get the e-book rather than the hardcopy. Sound good!
That’ll do for today’s post. Hopefully my life will get more exciting in time for the next life update-y type post. Tomorrow I will introduce you to my new News feature. It should be interesting!
