Lilo And Stitch

Last night I watched my newly purchased DVD of Lilo and Stich, one of my fave Disney films ever. There are many reasons why it is good. It is a sci-fi film and as far as I’m aware the only Disney Classic which is sci-fi. Stitch, the alien, is so cute. I used to have a plushie Stitch year’s ago and it was literally the cutest toy I ever had. The film also has some Elvis music in it which is awesome. And the idea that “family means no-one gets left behind” is such a lovely idea and what I feel is really important in life. I love Lilo and Stich so much. I want my own Stitch. It would be amazing.

Postcrossing

I have discovered an exciting new website called Postcrossing. It’s an exciting way of getting more interesting post. Basically you can send up to five postcards to addresses they give you. When they arrive your address is given to random people who then send you a postcard from wherever they are in the world. It’s all very exciting and I’ve got my first postcards ready to send. I shall let you know when I get some postcards delivered. I don’t really know what to expect and that makes it even more fun :)

Health and Safety

Yesterday I actually went and earnt some money, something which is becoming ever rarer this year. My work needs less staff and I can’t do half-term holidays any more so actually being available for a time when they need more staff is quite tricky. Hopefully I shall get to work a bit more in the summer. Anyway, today they had a training session about health and safety. I wasn’t exactly looking forward to it but actually it turned out to be OK. There were some good stories told including supposedly unconscious people actually being asleep and a person coming to a sticky end in a paper shredder. Annoyingly though I did have to fill out a risk assessment. I already despise risk assessments and as a teacher I will have to do them all the time. Whilst they are important they are time consuming and dull. And when you start filling them out everything you do seems really dangerous because you start over-analysing it. The world is dangerous when you think about it.

OK, time to explain today’s slightly odd title. Well it’s all in this little video I made where I begin filming some strange goings-on and then get abducted by aliens. May or may not be influenced by the Doctor Who episode “Love and Monsters”. Here it is:
