I am suffering from a major lack of sleep this week partly due to the stresses of my life at the moment and partly due to the amount of hard work that is being asked of me this week.
History. We ended up having the lesson in Mr R’s office which was very weird but we continued to plan essays.
Eng Lit. We had the first section of our mock exam in which we had to compare Shakespeare’s Sonnet 19 to Louis MacNeice’s Meeting Point. I quite like the second as it is very romantic but show’s the negative effect time can have on relationship’s. I suppose it very much reflects my feelings at the moment. From tomorrow there will be a page on this blog which lists all the poems and books I mentions and will give you links to be able to read them.
Mrs W was in Studland looking at sand dunes today so we had no geology lesson. Whilst Mike and Torr wasted their time by looking at stuff on the Cheezburger network, I finished my poem. It is called Trapped and has already been described as
“really good, one of the best poems I've read here…”!
Read Trapped here!
After school myself, Rachel and George were doing an AS resit of a centre-based task for geology. It was a simple experiment involving tipping syrup down a test tube and the exam itself was really easy. Good marks on that one I should think. During it though I had what I think is my first nosebleed of the year. I have had nosebleeds at regular occurrences throughout my life and though I get them less often now it still only takes some heat and a bit of stress to set one off.
This evening I was supposed to be doing either History or English coursework but as I am waiting for both pieces to be marked there wasn’t much I could do. Bring on tomorrow!
