Burnham-On-Sea

This entry is going to end up very bizarre so be ready for something very odd.

Our family took a two hour each way drive to a place called Burnham On Sea, which is where my Nan and Great Aunt have moved. It is in Somerset about 12 miles from Weston Super Mare. Although being only 98 miles away it takes a ridiculous two and a half hours.

Anyway, we eventually arrived at this lovely town. My Nan has moved from Birmingham so it’s quite different from where she has lived her whole life. It was nice to see her after six months since the last time and the parrot kept us entertained too. A nice time there.

The journey back was equally long but we drove through a fantastically named place: Westonzoyland. Not only does it have a great name it also has a good history. It had the Battle of Sedgemoor, which was the last battle in the Monmouth rebellion. I know I’m a geek. Lol

Gemma is round Sammy’s house tonight so I have to entertain myself at home. A Wii sesh I think :)

Annoying Squeaky Chipmunks

Today was the day me and Gemma were supposed to be taking Hannah to see New Moon. New Moon, I can put up with, but then we had to go and see “Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel”. The trailer was irritating enough and I though I was going to be wanting to shoot a chipmunk by the end. However, I was proved wrong.

Despite the annoying squeaky voices, the film wasn’t actually that bad and, dare I say it, was quite enjoyable. It made me laugh on several occasions. But I can’t admit to liking Alvin and the chipmunks- can I?

We had a massive lunch at Pizza Hut which was nice. This holiday I seem to have spent far too much time being a pig and eating lots of food. There’s a New Year’s resolution in there somewhere.

We did some brief shopping and then had to return to Ringwood so Gemma could work for a measly two hours. During that time I did an ickle bit of revision and then went back to Gemma’s where me and Gemma watched some of Russell Howard Live.

In all, a surprisingly good day!

I sleep for most of the day and Reflections 6#

My mother woke me at 1PM today. I was even just being lazy and not getting up, I was fast asleep. Goodness knows how long I would have stayed in bed if I hadn’t been woken up. All this sleep drastically cut down my revision time but fortunatly I managed to get a little done. As per usual I spent the afternoon round Gemma’s :)

Time for reflections! Yes I know, reflections on a Monday? I’m sorry, I just haven't had a chance before now. These are reflections on the last week, not including today.

Highlights of the week: CHRISTMAS, my new phone and lots of time with Gemma

Lowlight of the week: The lack of excitement about Christmas

Random situation of the week: Playing Uno Extreme at Gemma’s house.

Song of the week: Just all the Christmas songs

My New Phone

After breaking my phone into two pieces yesterday, this morning I popped into Bournemouth to buy a new one. It was surprisingly difficult to find one, mostly because nowhere had had a delivery since before Christmas. I ended up going to Phones4U and buying a Samsung Geio Touch. I don’t understand why phone shops require you to sit down: surely customers can stand for a little while. :( Also you know the sales guy is an idiot when he calls you dude. Anyways, this is what my new phone looks like:

I spent the afternoon round Gemma’s, after doing an hours revision. We played some Uno Extreme which Hannah got for Christmas and involves a machine shooting cards at you. I did record a video on my phone but I don’t know how to put it on my computer yet.

By the way, if you haven't given me your number yet comment on this to give it to me. Mine is still the same fortunatly.

Christmas Day 2009

Christmas began very early this year as I was up to meet Gemma at 8am from work. It was too much for Sherbet:

PC250006

My first Christmas happened at Gemma’s house, where I received a camera, a digital photo frame, a hoodie and a dressing gown. Gemma was most pleased with her ring (not an engagement ring people(!)

My second Christmas was actually less exciting with some games and books received. We Sing, New Super Mario Bros Wii and Scribblenauts will be played lots!

Dinner went OK, best bit was of course parsnips.

Doctor Who was amazing: the Master changed the entire human race into the Master race! How amazing!

Generally an OK Christmas, but not the best ever but I hope you all had a good day.

Christmas Eve 2009

What a fantastic day! I spent the day with Gemma and for that reason it was immense!

The first part was at my house where we entertained ourselves by watching the first 3 episodes from series one of Gavin and Stacey. As a fairly recent fan it was great to see the first few episodes and they were really funny.

The next part of the day was at Gemma’s where we watched Hancock and Gemma wrapped up some presents. Also my fave Gemma quote for a while happened today:

I thought Pearl Harbor was a boat

I can’t really describe how amazing today was, but it was one of the best day’s of my life so far.

I am currently using NORAD to look where Santa is. He doesn’t take the route I would have expected. He reached the UK at 11:50, and here is proof:

New Picture (1)

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and I shall be back tomorrow on how my day went. You can never say I’m not dedicated to the job. If you’re lucky I may put in a little video, so join me same time same place tomorrow.

The Eve of Christmas Eve

One of those bizarre days where not a lot really happened yet it was an awesome day.

It began with me and Gemma accompanying Gemma’s mum on a Christmas food shop in Ringwood. It was packed in Ringwood and we saw loads of people I knew, including Chris who looked extremely disappointed to be working the afternoon. The BIG shop was successfully completed. The weather continues to be a pain with ice everywhere and then it chucked it down.
I spent a few hours round Gemma’s house which was nice but as I went to leave I slipped on some ice and fell flat onto my bum. It hurt but it was a typical “You’ve Been Framed” moment which was funny for everyone but me.

Then this evening I had a badminton lesson and things are going very well in the improving department. My clear is virtually perfect and my smash is getting there. This isn’t me showing off and saying that I’m amazing because I am actually crap, but I can do a very good clear at least.

My weirdly wonderful day ended rather well. I got an offer from Winchester Uni for education studies and history which is most pleasing. Somehow all the plans for Christmas Day got sorted out today and that’s lovely. I am spending tomorrow with Gemma and then IT’S CHRISTMAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS!

Only 3 sleeps ‘til Christmas

Apologies but due to feeling ill I have condensed Monday and Tuesday of this week into one entry.

On Monday I spent the morning at Gemma’s which was nice, though I felt pretty ill throughout the day. I had work at Serendipity Sam’s in the evening which was entertaining and then I felt really ill in the evening.

On Tuesday I felt much better and much less ill. I worked 10-3 and then spent the afternoon with Gemma.

We watched Tim Burton movie BeetleJuice which was funny though rather odd.

I’m sorry but these two days have been me working and spending time with Gemma so I don’t have much to tell about them, other than the fact that Gemma makes me so happy!

Feeling Ill and Reflections 5#

Today was a pretty shit day to be honest. I spent most of the day feeling really weak, like I was gonna faint, and even an afternoon at Gemma’s with a roast dinner and the David Lloyd quiz (which we didn’t win) weren’t enough to make me feel better. By 10PM I felt even worse and was on the verge of throwing up and had a horrible stomach ache. I endured a sleepless night of feeling crap. But I think I got over the worst.

The one good piece of news is the fact that Rage Against the Machine beat X Factor winner Joe McElderry to Christmas number one. The power of Facebook!Time for reflections on my week:

Highlights of the week: Shopping with Chris, Mike and Sammy and teaching my first lesson

Lowlight of the week: Feeling really crap today

Random situation of the week: Kissing a heart to put in a teddy at Build a Bear.

Song of the week: Killing in the name by Rage Against the Machine

Reflections 4#

Well today has been one of those days that flew by with little actually happening. I was woken at 10 by Gemma and then spent several hours on my laptop, generally messing around. My visit out was to Gemma’s for a couple of hours. There was some drama in Spittlefields, as there is always, but I shall keep that to myself.E-mail me if you really want that story.Anyway, here’s my reflections on the week:

Highlights of the week: The Christmas Concert

Lowlight of the week: Not seeing much of Gemma

Random situation of the week: Putting up the Xmas lights at Gemma’s, trying to make them better than last years effort by Gemma’s mum

Song of the week: Young Forever by Jay-Z )Feat Mr Hudson

Our last Christmas Concert!

P1: Geology with Mrs W. We watched some more CGI David Attenbourgh, this time about evolution.
We then discovered that Mr M was not here because he “took a risk on some fridge items and have paid the price.” Me and Mike then went into town and I bought some new shoes! I even have a video of my bi-monthly new show ceremony:

After some time at Gemma’s house I returned to school to find Mike attempting “The Impossible Quiz”, which truly is impossible. Play it here.

This evening I was round Gemma’s again. Here’s their lovely Xmas tree:

And after Gemma’s mum making the Xmas lights looking like a splat last year and me taking the mickey, it was my job to set the lights up. However,  did a good job, making a Xmas Tree shape, which I call the Splat-tree!Here’s some photos:

Roast Dinners and reflections 3#

Firstly I need to share with you my first Christmas card. Every one I receive will make this blog.

How lovely! I got up early this morning to finish my history coursework, which I had done by half 10. A bit late but I don’t really think Mrs R can get in too much of a strop about that.

This evening I went round Gemma’s and had a lovely time and a lovely roast dinner, picture below:

Time for reflections on my week:

Highlights of the week: Spending pretty much a whole weekend with Gemma :D

Lowlight of the week: Having to do my history coursework

Random situation of the week: Stood in Bournemouth Triangle watching a Santa climb a lamppost.

Nativity! and Christmas Shopping

Today me and Gemma went and did our Christmas shopping. I think we visited most shops in Bournemouth and I’ve bought pretty much all my presents which is excellent. The fact that Borders is closing down is very upsetting. The hours I spent wandering through the store picking up books. It’s the 2nd year running that one of my fave shops has closed down after the loss of Woolworths. The triumph of online shopping is coming :(

Then we went to the cinema to see a British film called Nativity! which, not surprisingly, is about a school putting on a nativity. It was so funny and reminded me of myself in a way, being totally in love with someone and eventually being a school teacher.

I have had a lovely couple of days with Gemma and am very happy at the moment. Everything is going so well!

This evening I started work on re-writing my coursework which I have til 10AM tomorrow to e-mail to Mrs R. I got most of the way through but at about midnight I could take no more and gave up and went to bed. Hopefully I will finish it in time tomorrow morning.

Wherever you find love it feels like Christmas

P1/2: History with Mrs R. Except Mrs R sent me and Amy away to do our history coursework but I thought my time would be better spent doing my English coursework, so that’s what I did.

P3/4: Eng Lit with Cornish. We continued on our English coursework. That’s right, TWO entire double lesson doing English coursework, and not surprisingly I got a hell of a lot done. One week to go and the coursework is over!

This afternoon Gemma came round and stayed over the night. We spent most of the evening watching random stuff such as Russell Howard’s Good News, Gavin and Stacey and then my favourite film ever, The Muppet’s Christmas Carol. I so love that film and it’s a shame you can only really watch it at Christmas time. I may have worn the DVD out my the new year.

Remember: it’s in the singing of the street corner choir, coming home and getting warm by the fire. It’s true wherever you find love, it feels like Christmas!

David Attenborough is CGI

P1: Geology with Mrs W. We watched more of David Attenborough's fossil show featuring tar pits and burgess shale. We have discovered the truth behind David Attenborough: he is CGI. It makes sense cos no-one looks like that in reality.

P2/3: Free. I filmed a few bits for the DWW Xmas song, including a behind the scenes bit and a silly video which I’ll share on this blog asap.

P4: Geology with Mr M. We looked at the stuff in the fossil boxes and vaguely did some trilobite stuff.

P5/6: History with Mr R. Due to the lack of a booklet about Spain, we did some revision about Scotland.

I then spent about an hour running through my coursework with Mrs R which wasn’t fun at all.

Puddle Roulette and another successful quiz

P1: Eng Lit with Tenacious Leigh. Leigh made a terrible mistake and booked the library for period 2 but fortunatly there were enough spare computers for us to be able to work on our coursework,

P2: Free. I had far too much energy and annoyed everyone on our side of the common room. Apologies to everyone involved.

P3: History with Mrs R. Mrs R disappeared with Amy to talk about her coursework so me and Nat looked at the interpretations for the next bit. I am seeing Mrs R after school tomorrow to discuss my coursework *Gulp*

Fairly standard bit of work experience this afternoon with some metaphors and portrait drawing. My lack of artistic skills meant that the second bit was difficult for me, let alone the kids.

I made this little video for the blog on the way home from picking Gemma up from work:

I went to the pub quiz at The Elm Tree this evening with my father and his mates and we won. This quiz winning lark is becoming something of an enjoyable habit. Perhaps “quizzing” can fill the empty gap on hobbies. There was also a higher/lower card game and I was sent up there, without a clue what to do. I failed cos I said lower on a Queen and an Ace came out. (Yes, explain that one people). I would not have won anyway as there was a pair of fours next. But a fairly enjoyable evening all the same.

Tiny doors open everywhere

So welcome to December and many of you will have opened the first little door on you advent calendar.

DSC00361

And the 1st day of December brought a beautiful white frost too.

P2: History with Mr R. We did an exam question plan.

P3/4: Eng Lit with Tenacious Leigh. We looked at a specimen paper and then answered one of the questions on it.

P5/6: Geology with Mrs W. We watched an old fossil video with David Attenborough (who we believe to actually be CGI) and then did some notes.
